BRUTE FORCE PASSWORD CRACKER

am familiar with password crackers that use wordlists.  The problem I'm having is that most of these word lists have dictionary words and most smart users use a combination of numbers, letters and other characters (i.e. $,#,!) for passwords.  I am using xhydra to brute force my Cisco router but I have set the password to incorporate characters like the above and the lists do not contain my password.

Is anyone aware of of either a brute force cracker that generates passwords on its own or wordlists that incorporate various characters such as  $,#,!. etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
